Ordination as Priest of the Rev’d Gerard Rundell

The Rev’d Gerard Rundell

On Saturday 29th June at 4.00 pm Gerard Will Be Ordained Priest by Bishop Christine in our Cathedral Church of St Nicholas and the following morning, Sunday 30th June, Gerard will preside at the Eucharist for the first time. On this occasion the 9.30am and 11.15am congregations will come together at 10.00am and the service will be followed by a light lunch and celebratory drink here in church. Do make a note of this in your diary and try to be there for this very special occasion.

Thy Kingdom Come

Friday 31st May, and Monday 3rd-Friday 7th June

From Ascension to Pentecost the Church of England and churches around the world are setting time aside for prayer through Thy Kingdom Come. To join with in this global movement, Gerard will be leading a daily half hour of Contemplative Prayer starting on Friday 31st May, and then from Monday 3rd-Friday 7th June at 3.00 pm in church.

Please do come along for some silence and space for God in your day.

Parish Quiet Day

Saturday, 8th June

The Thy Kingdom Come week will finish with a Parish Quiet Day on Holy Island on Saturday 8th June. This will be from around 10.30-5.00 pm and will include some reflections and worship as well as plenty of space to enjoy the island, spend time in prayer, and enjoy each other’s company. Please sign up at the back of church for an idea of numbers.

Flower Festival

Thursday, 8th August – Sunday, 11th August

Our Flower Festival this year is from August 8th to 11th with a preview evening on August 7th. The theme for this year is “A Good Read” So far we have books from Oliver Goldsmith to J. K. Rowling and Alice in Wonderland to The Wonky Donkey!
